ADMISSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Please keep in mind that if a teen does not match the qualifications for our program, Teen Rescue, Inc. will assist you in finding a program that will work. We can coach parents and protect the family from getting taken advantage of or going in a direction that may be detrimental to the child’s care. There is no charge for this service. Donations are appreciated but NOT a requirement. You will not be asked for a donation. We are here to help you and your family.

The process of Admission
Requirements for admission:
The following is a list of items needed to move forward in the process. Please keep in mind if you need help with tuition, contact us for options available.
1. After a general profile is completed over the phone, you will be sent a contract and parent handbook.
2. We require parents to call 4 other programs of similar types like ours. This is our way of remaining ethical as this is a very vulnerable time for parents and we wish to assist parents in doing the best thing for their child. We would love to be of assistance to your family through JYA, but our goal is to have you feel a peace about the decision you make in behalf of your child. We want parents to feel we made their family the priority rather than filling our program.
3. After we review the profile, we will set up a time for you to visit the school. If your visit goes well and you like what you see, we then can arrange an enrollment time.
4. Parents are requested to read the contract and parent hand book before returning the sign notarized documents.
5. When possible, we would like your student to be evaluated by our psychologist prior to admission, but we know this can be difficult with a hostile or resistance teen. If the student is not seen before admission, they will be evaluated with in 30 days of admission.
6. If you need help in transporting your daughter, a list of escorts will be included in the packet given to the parents.
"How fast can my child be admitted?"
We realize that sometimes you may need to move quickly. We can accommodate this. We have admitted new students in as little as an 8 hours, however it usually takes approximately 24 hours for an admission process to take place.
Cost:
Without a scholarship, the general tuition is approximately $2,800.00 per month with an $10,000.00 down payment over a 15 month term. Total $52,000. This total cost includes 6 additional months of aftercare support. Again, if you need help with tuition please contact us for different tuition options.
Cost comparisons:
An independent market survey found that we are the lowest cost program for the staff ratio we maintain. We strive to maintain 17 house parent staff to 35-48 students. (We do not include corporate staff support in these numbers). Our daily rate is $97.91 compared to programs that start at $120 per day and most programs averaging $160 per day.
Wilderness programs:
Average Cost= $400.00 to $800.00 a day
Residential Treatment programs:
Average Cost= $300.00 to $800.00 a day
Group homes
Average Cost= $266.00 to $600.00 a day
The same market survey previously cited above showed that the therapeutic boarding school industry has exploded. There were four primary programs 10 years ago and today there are over 300 programs that are similar in structure to the Julian Youth Academy. The Julian Youth Academy is one of the original schools of it's kind. Since 1993, The Julian Youth Academy operates using philosophies and techniques that have been proven as reliable.
California Boarding School Programs:
We are the only all girls Christian school for struggling teens in California.
Established in 1993, The Julian Youth Academy is one of the only programs that have remained strong in California with the support of County, State and local authorities.
Scholarship programs:
We have Scholarship programs for those who qualify. We require the family to show a legitimate hardship. The applications are reviewed and approved on a case by case situation.
Financing options:
- Cash pay
- Credit card payment
- Installments based on contracted amount
- Student loans (contact us for a list of programs available)
Transportation to the program:
We highly recommend using T.A.P.S. (Teen Adolescent Placement Services).
